Dolphins’ Ricky Williams predicts no lockout
DAVIE, Fla. (AP)—The running back who once staged a walkout predicts there will be no lockout.
Ricky Williams(notes) has been known to miss a season from nfl jerseys
time to time, but he expects to be playing in 2011. The Dolphins running back is also their new player representative, and he’s optimistic the NFL Players Association and the league will reach a collective bargaining agreement without a labor stoppage.
Given his independent streak, Williams might seem a curious choice as a spokesman for union solidarity. He abruptly retired before the 2004 season, and in the wake of repeated violations of the league’s drug policy, he missed all but one game in 2006-07.
Williams became the player representative when he replaced Greg Camarillo(notes), who was traded last month.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Vince Young(notes) says he didn’t Pittsburgh Steelers jersey
want the Heisman Trophy anyway.
The Heisman Trust decided Wednesday to vacate the 2005 award after Reggie Bush(notes) forfeited it Tuesday. The news came shortly after Young talked to reporters, trying to dodge questions about the Heisman because he’s busy preparing for his first career start against Pittsburgh.
The man who finished second to Bush in the Heisman voting has been deluged with questions over the past week. Did Young want the Heisman? Would Young accept?
Young said in a couple of Dallas Cowboys jersey
tweets Tuesday night that he considers Bush the 2005 Heisman winner. He repeated that Wednesday and begged reporters to quit asking about the Heisman.
“Why would I want it?” he asked.
