Cameron Sheffield carted off with neck injury, moving

One week after cornerback Maurice Leggett(notes) was carted off the field with a concussion and neck injury, Kansas City Chiefs rookie linebacker Cameron Sheffield(notes) injured his neck and was carted off the field.
The fifth-round draft pick football jersey from Troy was immobilized, but fellow linebacker Demorrio Williams(notes) told the Kansas City Star later that Sheffield was able to move.
“I just wanted to make sure that everyone’s thoughts and prayers out there are with Cameron,” Chiefs coach Todd Haley said. “We’ve had two of those situations in two weeks and, again, I know the guys are all praying for him and his family that everything turns out in a good way.
“Right now I don’t have any information that I feel real comfortable giving, because there are a lot of 49ers jersey people out there that are family and friends of Cameron’s and I don’t want to say something that ends up being wrong. I just want to make sure that he and his family know that the Kansas City Chiefs are praying for him.”
